ABOUT US

Tony

A message from Tony Anderson, Manager of the White Horse Hotel :

"When I first came to Hakuba for a snowboarding holiday with some mates in 2003, if someone had told me it would become my home in a few years time I would have thought "no chance".

Move the clock forward to 2006 and I am opening a hotel. Move the clock forward again to 2008 and I am out in the backcountry skiing with Olympic champions Johnny Moseley and Takahiro Sakamoto while they were filming the next Warren Miller ski movie.

Here we are now in the present and I have a lovely Japanese wife and 2 young kids. The mountain life has been good for me and I continually look up in awe at the landscape and give thanks to where my life path has led.

My philosophy for the hotel is to make sure our guests have the best holiday experience possible – one they’ll never forget. The proof of my worth is the many return guests who I can genuinely call my friends.

I’ve exceeded even my wildest dreams here in Hakuba and I feel so blessed to have found such a beautiful part of the world… What will Hakuba do for you?

We look forward to welcoming you here soon at the White Horse Hotel. Happy sliding!”

THE Philosophy

We pride ourselves in showing you the best of what Hakuba has to offer so you can be rewarded with a great holiday experience. We’ll help you find your way around the mountains, advise you on the best restaurants for traditional Japanese cuisine, and we can even organise a romantic private onsen in a secluded forest setting with a bottle of champagne.

Each and every one of our staff is passionate about Hakuba and the snow, and we can't wait to share this passion with you!

My first trips here as a tourist inspired me to help my fellow tourists with every aspect of their holiday in Japan. With a long list of repeat guests each year, I believe that we are doing a good job. Not content with that, we are constantly working on making the White Horse experience a better and more fulfilling one for all of our guests.
